Daniel Pyne is the author of six novels, as well as the feature films Pacific HeightsDoc
Hollywood
, The Manchurian Candidate, and Fracture among others. His television writing and
producing credits stretch from Miami Vice to Amazon’s Bosch. Some of Pyne’s short fiction can
be found in the Starlite Pulp Review, Kelp Press’s Savage Waves of Spring, and online at
HotValleyWriters.com; a new novel, Shadow War, is scheduled for release in late 2026. As an
undergraduate at Stanford, Pyne was mentored by novelist Chuck Kinder, who was the
inspiration for Michael Chabon's Wonder Boy. He's been on the faculty of the Sundance
Institute and taught for twenty-five years at UCLA’s Graduate School of Film, where he held the
Hunter-Zakin chair in screenwriting.
